HISTORY
The GVL corn-head gatherer shields were originally developed on the farm when
the founder of GVL, Inc. made the decision to go from 38" wide rows to 22"
narrow rows in 1992. As a farmer, he realized trying to rework the old metal
snouts to fit his corn-head was very time consuming and not very cost efficient.
He also determined many other improvements, such as using rotationally molded
polyethylene, and changes in the design, could be developed at the same time. As
you know "Most great ideas come right from the farm." After personally testing
his prototype on his own farm, he then decided the idea was good enough to
market.
Since 1993, we at GVL have taken great pride in manufacturing Polyethylene
Gatherer Shields in our modern facility in Litchfield, Minnesota. We at GVL
manufacture and stock our own poly parts on site, and are able to give the
farmer a fast turn around time on any parts or units needed. This is done to
assure you of the best quality product on the market. We manufacture poly
gatherer shields to fit John Deere, Case IH, Gleaner and New Holland corn-heads,
in 15", 20", 22", 30", 36", and 38" row widths. GVL has also helped farmers and
other companies design and custom build molds for many other new products made
from polyethylene at a very affordable price.
